Forklift Operator - Shipping

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assisting forklift drivers
• Safe operation of forklift
• Handling of inventory counts
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Scheduling of trucks for incoming and outgoing shipments
• Printing of the pick list and BOL
• Maintaining clean and organized warehouse
• Monitoring of warehouse
• Receiving material in system
• Lock and unlock warehouse at beginning and end of shift

Required Qualifications

·         Ability to assist in directing the activities of employees within department,

·         Must be a team player with the ability to develop and maintain a team environment. 

·         High School diploma or general education degree (GED);

·         One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

·         Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers; read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and; able to speak effectively to departmental employees.

·         Possess working knowledge of basic computer skills. 

·         Ability to drive fork truck with certification.

·         Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

Work Environment

·         Manufacturing/warehouse setting with exposure to moving equipment, noise, dust particles and varying temperatures.

·         Use of PPE required (e.g. safety shoes, high-visibility vest, glasses, gloves).
