    Job Description:

    Job Purpose

    To ensure the safe, efficient transfer of finished products from production lines onto outgoing flatbed trucks or railcars. To support shipping department objectives & ensure compliance with all safety, quality, environmental standards, and regulations.

    In this position you will have the opportunity to:

    • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
    • Accurately load trucks and rails (centerbeams and boxcars) by verifying correct product and quantities are loaded.
    • Transport paint, materials, equipment, totes, and chemicals onto and from trucks.
    • Ensure paint storage is correctly cycled and staged according to FIFO method (first in first out)
    • Maintain organization of all materials (finished goods and raw materials) within the warehouse and entire plant.
    • Assist with effective space utilization in the warehouse area by combing rows and moving product as needed and directed.
    • Prep the rail dock for rail loading by removing rail guards, opening boxcar doors and loosening centerbeam cables for loading.
    • Set rail chock on all railcars (centerbeam and boxcar) and remove when loading is complete.
    • Ensure safety guidelines are followed by truck drivers prior to loading (proper PPE, remain in truck and wheels chocked).
    • Properly lock out rail derailer and lift flags and remove locks when loading is complete.
    • Document each rail load (boxcar and centerbeam) with a photograph of the box car interior/ exterior.
    • Collect waste and debris throughout the warehouse, shipping docks, and inside and outside rails and dispose of properly.
    • Secure loads on railcars (boxcars and centerbeams) by ensuring centerbeam cables are tightened and boxcars are unit tied with airbags placed.
    • Perform inventory and cycle counts.
    • Install boxcar seals and placards on boxcar doors. Remove debris from box cars. Perform housekeeping as needed and instructed.

    Perform any other duties or tasks assigned in accordance with safety rules and regulations

    What do I need to be successful?

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Good hand/eye coordination
    • Ability to efficiently operate mobile equipment while driving forward and backwards
    • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations
    • Ability to read and understand daily work schedule
    • Ability to use various hand and pneumatic tools
    • Ability to use a camera

    Education:

    • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

    Experience:

    • 1 - 2 years' experience in equipment operation.
    • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
