Job Duties and Responsibilities:

-

Safely operate a forklift.

Loading and Unloading Material (flatbed trailers, 53’ vans, and rail cars) from a dock and outdoor yard during all seasons and weather conditions.

Read and understand what product(s) to select, how to load and unload trucks based on pick documents and bills of lading

Follows the Logistics Standard Operating Procedures, supports and maintains warehouse stock location system and code dates to ensure proper inventory turns and adherence to FIFO principles.

Receives Incoming Finished Goods and Raw Materials and verifies accuracy.

Provides general Customer Service to Customers and Transportation providers

Ability to safely lift, carry, and stack up to 55lb bundles of roofing shingles/rolls.

General housekeeping and all other related tasks as assigned

Follow the CertainTeed Health and Safety Rules, ensure safe operating conditions within the Shipping/Warehouse, and notify coworkers and supervisors of hazardous acts and conditions. -Proper use of PPE at all times. -Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with the 5S philosophy. -Facilitate and/or participate in safety training and safety committee meetings.

Quality Assurance and Process Control:

-

Support a zero-defect system through process control, to minimize non-quality related costs and to improve customer satisfaction. -This requires defect-free work and an understanding of the requirements of the company’s quality system as it pertains to job duties and responsibilities. -Must be able to check work to ensure conformance to process control instructions, specifications, and quality standards. -Identify and segregate non-conforming products. -Identify the need for and assist in initiating and implementing corrective and preventative actions when appropriate.

Actively participates in continuous improvement of products and processes to better serve customers and improve the overall profitability of CertainTeed.

Actively seek out work in other areas when the current assignment is complete.

Make suggestions for improving product quality, processes, safety, and company profitability.

Outside conditions, working with warehouse personnel and truck drivers.


Qualifications & Skills:


+ Minimum High School Education

+ 2 Years of Warehouse/Supply Chain Experience

+ 2 Years of Forklift Operating Experience

+ Good working knowledge of Warehouse/Shipping policies, procedures, operations, and general transportation processes.

+ Good oral communication skills

+ Strong Teamwork skills

+ Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

+ Ability to translate data into useful information.

+ Excellent Attendance Practices Required

+ Ability to deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations, sensitivity to other’s needs, and positive demeanor.

+ Use Mobile Order Picking System
