Job Title: Form Mill Operator / Brushing Operator

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Pay: $20.00–$21.00/hour

Our client in Glens Falls, NY is looking for a Form Mill Operator and a Brushing Operator to join their manufacturing team. These positions are responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring production equipment used to process and finish metal products.
The ideal candidates will have mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. Manufacturing or machine operation experience is preferred, but candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate production equipment according to work orders and specifications.
- Load, position, and prepare metal materials for processing.
- Monitor equipment and production processes to maintain consistent quality.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
- Perform basic machine adjustments and assist with routine equipment maintenance.
- Record production information and maintain accurate work orders.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment or process issues.
- Work effectively with production, quality, engineering, and maintenance teams.
Form Mill Operator – Job-Specific Responsibilities
- Operate form rolling mill equipment and related production machinery.
- Set up and change tooling for different production runs.
- Monitor formed dimensions, profiles, and product specifications throughout the production process.
- Clean, straighten, and prepare metal materials for form rolling.
- Make adjustments to equipment and tooling to maintain required product dimensions and quality.
- Monitor material flow through the mill and make corrections as needed.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and tooling changes.
Brushing Operator – Job-Specific Responsibilities
- Set up and operate brushing equipment used for metal surface finishing.
- Load and position metal products for brushing, polishing, and surface cleaning.
- Adjust machine settings, including brush speed, pressure, and brush type, to achieve required surface finishes.
- Monitor surface texture, cleanliness, and finish throughout the production process.
- Perform brush changes, tooling setup, and lubrication adjustments.
- Inspect finished products for surface quality and compliance with specifications.
- Assist with troubleshooting brushing equipment and correcting surface-finish issues.
- Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of brushing equipment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Manufacturing, machine operation, metalworking, or surface-finishing experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to read work instructions, production orders, and technical specifications.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable work ethic and good attendance.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
Physical & Work Environment
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a hot, noisy, industrial manufacturing environment.
- Ability to safely handle and move metal materials.
- Must wear required PPE, including safety glasses and hearing protection.
- Must follow all company safety and environmental requirements.
