Job Title: Formulation Lab Technician - Personal Care
Location: Tarrytown, NY 10591 - 100% onsite
Duration: 12 months contract
Shift: 08:30 AM - 05:00 PM - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Responsibilities:
Prepare, optimize, and evaluate cosmetic formulations across Hair Care, Skin Care, Sun Care, and Oral Care applications.
Perform and track prototype stability and compatibility. Formulate, scale-up and fill formulated samples and assemble in kits for sales promotion.
Support prototype development for innovation programs, customer projects, ingredient launches, and marketing concepts.
Assist scientists with formulation scale-up activities and manufacturing procedure optimization.
Prepare prototypes and presentation samples for customer meetings, demonstrations, and trade shows.
Conduct stability testing and monitor product performance against established specifications.
Maintain laboratory equipment and support calibration verification activities in accordance with ISO 9001 quality requirements.
Ensure laboratories remain organized, safe, and fully operational.
Maintain accurate formulation records, experimental data, and laboratory documentation.
Create Safety Data Sheets (SDS), sample requests, and product-related documentation through applicable business systems.
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor s degree in chemistry, biology, chemical engineering or related field with 0-2 years of formulation experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Be able to follow a set formula and procedure provided by industry experienced chemists to create finished formulations in personal care.
Must have good problem solving, decision making, and organization skills and ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to maintain a laboratory notebook, as a professional legal document.
Basic understanding and some experience of formulation development in personal care or related field a plus.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures. e.g pH meter, Brookfield Viscometer, stand mixers, Silverson homogenizers, etc a plus.
Ability to follow all laboratory safety procedures, safely lift up to 50 pounds, and work at a laboratory bench for up to eight hours per day.
