    Description

    About SynthBee

SynthBee builds Collaborative Intelligence — an always-human-in-the-loop AI system that augments humanity instead of replacing it. The company works with the largest OEMs and innovative automotive partners on cutting-edge technology including electric vehicles and autonomous systems.

Backed by $120M from top investors including Crosspoint Capital, SynthBee is a 53-person team where ownership and impact are real. The engineering leadership includes an SVP who managed 6,000 engineers at Lockheed Martin for 27 years.

    The Opportunity

SynthBee is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer specializing in automotive deployment to act as the primary bridge between SynthBee’s ML technologies and the rigorous engineering standards of tier-1 partners. You will own client relationships and build custom solutions that connect cutting-edge ML with mission-critical physical systems.

This is a client-facing, deeply technical role. You will advise leadership on the deployment of ML-powered systems within highly regulated environments, ensuring that innovation never compromises safety or compliance.

    What You’ll Do

    • •      Provide deep-domain expertise in mechanical and systems engineering to ensure ML models are physically grounded and technically viable
    • •      Lead the translation of complex regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, and others) into technical constraints for ML development
    • •      Oversee the lifecycle of complex systems from requirements capture through V-Model verification and validation (V&V)
    • •      Act as the technical translator between SynthBee’s software and ML teams and client-side mechanical, thermal, and safety engineering departments
    • •      Utilize engineering fundamentals to troubleshoot system-level failures in the field, bridging the gap between digital predictions and physical outcomes

    You Should Have

    • •      5-15 years of experience as a systems engineer in the automotive industry
    • •      Hands-on systems engineering ownership across the full lifecycle including requirements, ICDs, and V&V
    • •      Prior external client-facing technical work — presenting findings, managing relationships, or deploying at client sites
    • •      Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
    • •      Hands-on experience with FEA tools; Ansa is required, Ansys and Abaqus preferred
    • •      Proficiency with CAD tools, especially CATIA V5/V6 or HyperWorks
    • •      Familiarity with automotive standards such as ISO 26262 and ASPICE

    Nice to Have

    •      Exposure to AI/ML deployment or configuration including API integration, cloud infrastructure, or agentic systems — no model training experience required
