Position Description:

Join a cutting-edge team supporting the USPTO Enterprise Cloud Modernization Program as a Forward Deployed Engineer. This client-facing technical role offers the opportunity to leverage your software development, cloud engineering, and problem-solving skills to deliver impactful solutions in a federal environment. Work remotely with flexible location considerations and contribute directly to mission-critical modernization initiatives. This contract role offers competitive pay and potential for transition to permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for customer deployments, integrations, and solution delivery.
• Collaborate with customer teams to understand workflows, operational challenges, and mission requirements.
• Design, develop, and customize software using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Build automation, data pipelines, dashboards, and tailored features to meet customer needs.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues in real time, providing durable solutions.
• Partner with product engineering to communicate customer feedback and improvement opportunities.
• Create technical documentation, deployment guides, and runbooks.
• Train and mentor customer technical staff and administrators.
• Ensure solutions comply with security, governance, and regulatory standards.
• Support technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept, and solution scoping activities.

Top Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience
• Strong hands-on development experience with Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages
• Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including cloud-based and distributed systems
• Experience working directly with customers, gathering requirements, troubleshooting, and delivering solutions
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Bicep)
