Work Arrangement: Candidates must be open to remote, hybrid, or onsite work based on project requirements.

We are seeking experienced Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) to support enterprise AI initiatives within a large healthcare organization. This is a hands-on engineering role for individuals who can work directly with business, product, architecture, and engineering teams to translate complex business problems into working technology solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with applied AI experience and the ability to operate effectively in complex enterprise environments. This role requires someone who can move from discovery and solution design into hands-on development, integration, testing, deployment, and production support.

Responsibilities:

• Partner directly with business, product, architecture, engineering, data, and other stakeholders to understand business problems and identify practical technology solutions.

• Design, prototype, build, integrate, and deploy AI-enabled applications and solutions within enterprise environments.

• Translate business requirements and workflows into technical designs, working software, integrations, and reusable components.

• Build and integrate solutions using APIs, enterprise data sources, cloud services, and modern application architectures.

• Develop AI-enabled capabilities using LLMs, generative AI, agentic AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and related technologies as appropriate.

• Rapidly prototype solutions, validate them with users, and iterate based on real-world feedback.

• Apply AI-assisted development techniques and tools to accelerate software engineering activities.

• Build appropriate testing, evaluation, observability, security, and human-in-the-loop controls into AI-enabled solutions.

• Troubleshoot technical issues across applications, integrations, data, models, and infrastructure.

• Identify reusable patterns, components, prompts, integrations, and engineering practices that can be applied across multiple initiatives.

• Support deployment, adoption, knowledge transfer, and transition of solutions to long-term engineering and support teams.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering, application development, solution engineering, or related experience.

• Strong hands-on development experience with languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or similar modern programming languages.

• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs, microservices, enterprise applications, and data sources.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

• Hands-on experience with generative AI, LLM-based applications, AI-assisted development, or related AI technologies.

• Understanding of modern software engineering practices including source control, automated testing, CI/CD, containers, and production support.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through ambiguous business and technical problems.

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of solutions from initial concept through implementation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AI/LLM frameworks, orchestration platforms, RAG, vector databases, agentic AI, or AI evaluation frameworks.

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar technologies.

• Experience with MLOps, LLMOps, model evaluation, observability, or AI governance.

• Previous experience in a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant, or similar client/business-facing engineering role.

• Experience within healthcare, particularly healthcare payer environments.

• Familiarity with healthcare data, claims, member, provider, clinical, care management, or other payer-related domains.
