The Foundation Development Officer is a key member of the Deaconess Foundation team, responsible for building meaningful relationships with donors, community partners, and philanthropic supporters. This role manages a portfolio of donors and prospects while identifying new giving opportunities, strengthening community engagement, and supporting fundraising initiatives that advance the Foundation's mission.
What You'll Do
Build and manage relationships with an active portfolio of donors and prospective supporters.
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward new and existing donors to achieve fundraising goals.
Partner with Deaconess leaders, physicians, and community organizations to strengthen philanthropic engagement.
Represent the Deaconess Foundation at community events and serve as a visible ambassador throughout the region.
Support fundraising campaigns, special events, and employee giving initiatives.
Collaborate with Foundation colleagues to develop donor engagement strategies and expand community outreach.
Track donor activity, fundraising progress, and key performance metrics.
Support fundraising efforts across multiple Deaconess hospitals and service areas.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or a related field required.
Minimum of three years of experience in fundraising, foundation development, donor relations, nonprofit development, sales, business development, or a related relationship-focused role.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet goals.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with donor management or CRM systems is a plus.
