D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Foundation Total Station Operator. The right candidate will operate a Total Station (TST) for the purposes of home construction, specifically for basements and foundations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform all phases of field surveying work
Working off of a foundation plan, use the TST to survey and layout basements and foundations, including footings, walls, etc.
Establish and set points on construction stakeout projects, such as drop inlets, sewer lines, etc.
Record measurements indicating the exact locations of horizontal and vertical control points
Upload all TST data to and from computer
Perform daily care, charging, and maintenance of the instrument
Operate all equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures
Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
Ability to work overtime
Coordinate with CAD operators and other subcontractors to resolve issues as needed
Assist the foreman with other tasks as needed
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Two to three years of related experience and/or training
May require CDL in compliance within DOT guidelines
Ability to understand and communicate in basic English
Knowledge of the operation of Total Stations (TST) such as Leica or Trimble
Past field survey experience and good spatial reasoning
Knowledge of or experience in basement and foundation construction
Must have a valid driver's license, vehicle, and a willingness to travel
Proficiency with MS Office and email
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
Engineering or survey background preferred
Knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit
