Founding Engineer (Backend)

Who we are

Pario is a venture-backed pre-seed technology company with a mission to improve maternal and fetal healthcare outcomes in the US, which are currently the worst in the developed world.

We're building an electronic health/medical record (EHR/EMR) system tailored to the workflows of obstetricians, gynecologists, and midwives. Our vision is to empower women’s healthcare providers to spend less time on admin and more time on patient care with elegant, simple, more intuitive software.

About the role

As a founding engineer, you’ll work closely with the CTO to realize Pario’s vision and bring our product to market. With a focus on backend development, you’ll be working on the core services that support our MVP’s web application, in addition to learning and wearing other hats as needed (e.g., frontend, QA, infra). You will own large parts of the codebase, have autonomy to make technical decisions, and have significant impact on the final product.

You'll learn a lot, ship product, and make a difference in one of the most important events in someone's life.

Requirements

• 4+ years working in a compiled, statically typed language (e.g., Golang, Java, Rust, Typescript, C, C++)
• Proactive, autonomous working style
• Ability to resolve ambiguity in the absence of product requirements or design documents
• Excellent written communication skills
• Willingness to learn and work on the frontend as needed (e.g., Typescript/Javascript, React, etc.)

Nice to Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent working experience)
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD practices (i.e., automated test and deployment pipelines)
• Familiarity with Docker and deploying with AWS’s container management and orchestration services
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tooling (e.g., CDK, Terraform, Pulumi, etc.)
• Prior experience in the healthcare industry
• Prior startup experience
