What You Will Do

• Build and scale core platform capabilities powering enterprise AI agents
• Develop backend-heavy systems for multi-agent orchestration and workflow automation
• Build integrations with enterprise systems including Salesforce, Outlook, ERP platforms, and logistics tooling
• Ship full-stack product features across backend infrastructure and frontend user experiences
• Develop React frontend experiences for enterprise AI operations workflows
• Build Node.js and TypeScript backend systems powering complex agentic workflows
• Work directly with customers to understand operational pain points and translate them into production features
• Own projects end-to-end from requirements gathering through production deployment
• Build automation infrastructure involving browser automation, voice systems, and AI orchestration
• Reverse-engineer customer operational workflows and connect them into Runbook’s AI platform
• Collaborate closely with founders and early engineering leadership on platform architecture decisions
• Rapidly prototype and deploy new AI-driven operational tooling
• Operate with high autonomy and product ownership in a fast-moving startup environment
• Contribute to technical direction and foundational engineering decisions as one of the earliest engineers
• Work across AI tooling, LLM integrations, backend infrastructure, APIs, and customer-facing workflows

Ideal Candidate Background

• 3+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer shipping production products
• OR 2+ years exclusively at high-growth VC-backed startups
• Strong full-stack engineering background with strength in backend systems
• Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and React
• Experience building consumer, prosumer, or internal-facing products with measurable impact
• Experience owning medium-to-large projects end-to-end
• Strong product orientation and customer empathy
• Experience working on AI agents, LLM integrations, automation platforms, or AI tooling
• Familiarity with prompt engineering, AI workflows, or modern LLM ecosystems
• Experience integrating APIs, enterprise systems, or third-party tooling
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous, high-intensity startup environments
• Strong communication and collaboration ability
• Experience working directly with customers or product stakeholders
• Strong ownership mentality with bias for execution and rapid iteration
• Comfortable using modern AI coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary: $200,000 – $300,000
