NOW HIRING: Founding General Manager at Alloy Personal Training Edina up to $102,000.00 + Benefits + Ownership Stake up to 5%

Alloy Personal Training Edina is hiring a Founding General Manager to lead the launch of one of the Twin Cities' newest premium personal training studios. This is a sales and leadership role first. If you have built membership, led a team, and enjoy owning a number, this is a rare chance to open a studio from an empty space and run it as if it were your own.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Most general manager roles hand you a business someone else built. This one starts with a shell, a build-out, and a founding member goal.
  • You will run presales, sign the founding membership, hire and develop the coaching team, and set the culture and standards that carry the studio for years. You will work directly with ownership, not through three layers of regional management.
  • For the right person, this is a path to real ownership in the studio you build, not a bonus dressed up as equity.

BRAND NEW STUDIO:
Alloy Personal Training Edina at 6805 York Avenue South Edina, MN 55435.

The studio sits in Edina's Southdale corridor, near Southdale Center, the Galleria, Centennial Lakes, and Highway 62. It draws from Edina, Richfield, Bloomington, south Minneapolis, St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka, and Eden Prairie.

COMING SOON: Our grand opening is scheduled for Fall/Winter 2026.

COMPENSATION: $65,000 to $75,000 base salary with earning up to $102,000.00 or more per year. We will provide the full breakdown in the interview process.

PLUS EQUITY. This is a rare opportunity in the industry to be compensated with ownership in the studio. You earn 1% ownership in the studio at the end of your first year, no conditions attached beyond staying and doing the job. After that, you can earn another 1% each year by keeping the studio above 120 active members, up to a total of 5%.

PREMIUM BENEFITS:

  • Health insurance stipend from your start date, with a company group health plan planned for 2027
  • Paid training at Alloy headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia
  • Complimentary Alloy membership and free workouts
  • Up to 30% employee discount on retail and supplements
  • Flexible scheduling
  • There is a realistic path for multi-unit management as we expand in the market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Sales. This constitutes the majority of the job through presale and the first year.

  • Work leads daily, book Starting Point Sessions, and close them
  • Own lead follow up, show rate, and close rate as personal numbers
  • Deliver consultations using Alloy's assessment process
  • Run local outreach: business to business partnerships, community events, chamber and networking groups

Build the founding membership. The studio's opening target is a founding member base signed during presale, then steady growth toward a stabilized studio of roughly 110 to 130 active members. You will own that ramp.

Lead the team. Hire, onboard, schedule, and develop coaches. Run weekly team and leadership meetings. Hold quarterly reviews.

Retain. Accountability sessions, InBody weeks, quarterly challenges, milestone and success story recognition, and low usage outreach. Retention is a measured responsibility, not an afterthought.

Operate. Scheduling, payroll, billing, opening and closing standards, cleanliness, vendor coordination, and reporting.

Coach, on your terms. Up to 10 hours a week on the floor, and you decide how many. When the pipeline needs work, you sell. When the studio is full, you coach. Nobody is going to hand you a floor schedule you did not build.

THE IDEAL FIT:

  • 3 to 5+ years leading a boutique fitness studio, health club, or another membership, hospitality, or high end service business
  • A documented record of consultative selling into recurring revenue, meaning you can tell us what you sold, at what price, and at what close rate
  • Experience hiring, scheduling, and developing a small team
  • Comfortable with payroll, scheduling, and daily operations
  • Available for some mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends, especially through presale and opening
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required, or obtained before opening

A personal training certification is welcome but not required. We would rather hire a strong operator and sales leader who respects a proven system than a trainer who wants to build workouts. The Alloy program is already written.

Backgrounds that tend to succeed here: Life Time, Orangetheory, F45, Burn Boot Camp, Xponential brands, Club Pilates, StretchLab, Pure Barre, Barry's, BODY20, BFT, The Exercise Coach, D1, MADabolic, Solidcore, Equinox, Crunch, Anytime Fitness, and Snap Fitness. Also strong: country club membership directors, luxury hospitality managers, premium retail managers, and medical spa or wellness practice managers.

ABOUT ALLOY PERSONAL TRAINING STUDIOS: Since 1992, Alloy Personal Training has delivered science backed, individualized programming with real coaching and accountability. The system now has 300+ locations and is one of the fastest growing premium personal training franchises in the country. Members come for results and stay for the coaching relationship.
