Position Summary
The Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis serves as a hands-on finance contributor responsible for driving profitable growth through actionable insights, rigorous financial analysis, and cross-functional partnership for the Basement and Stairlift businesses. This role supports the development of forecasting, commercial analytics, operational finance support, and decision-making processes that enable the Basement and Stairlift businesses to scale effectively.
Partnering closely with the General Managers as well as leaders across Commercial, Marketing, Operations, Pricing, and Recruiting, this role translates complex business challenges into data-driven analysis that informs revenue growth, margin performance, productivity, and capital efficiency decisions.
In addition to serving as a key analytical resource to business leadership, this role executes and refines analytical processes that support the Basement and Stairlift businesses’ continued growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Drive Business Performance and Growth for Basement and Stairlift
• Serve as a trusted analytical partner to Commercial, Marketing, and Operations leadership within the Basement and Stairlift businesses, providing insights and recommendations that support revenue growth, profitability, and operational effectiveness
• Develop an “outside-in” perspective through market intelligence, competitive analysis, and customer insights to identify opportunities and challenge assumptions
• Support the Monthly Business Review process, ensuring accurate reporting, clear analysis, and follow-up on key action items
• Prepare performance narratives that clearly communicate business trends, risks, opportunities, and priorities for the Basement and Stairlift businesses
• Identify opportunities to optimize pricing, customer economics, productivity, market expansion, and new product development initiatives
• Support business leadership in evaluating strategic investments, growth initiatives, and resource allocation decisions
Lead Planning, Forecasting, and Financial Insights
• Support sales, margin, and operational forecasting processes for the Basement and Stairlift businesses, contributing to model accuracy, transparency, and decision usefulness
• Deliver forward-looking analyses that proactively identify risks and opportunities across commercial and operational functions
• Partner with leadership teams to support development of annual operating plans, long-range forecasts, and strategic growth plans
• Conduct operational finance analysis, including profitability, labor productivity, material costs, capacity utilization, and capital deployment
• Support leadership reporting through concise, actionable financial insights and presentation materials
• Collaborate with Technology and Analytics teams to enhance reporting, dashboards, and self-service business intelligence capabilities
Build Organizational Capability
• Act as a connector between Finance, Commercial, Marketing, Operations, and Technology teams to support unified decision-making
• Champion a culture of analytical excellence by sharing knowledge and best practices with peers and business partners
• Contribute to the evolution of analytical methodologies, forecasting processes, reporting tools, and business intelligence capabilities
• Apply best practices, scalable processes, and standardized reporting frameworks within the FP&A organization
• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across the broader Finance team to elevate organizational capabilities
Required Education and Experience:
• 7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, commercial finance, strategic finance, operations finance, or business analytics
• Experience supporting multi-site, direct-to-consumer, building materials manufacturing, home improvement, or home services businesses preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and business intelligence tools, including Tableau, PowerBI, Salesforce, Excel, NetSuite, and related platform
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
• Strong commercial and operational finance acumen with the ability to connect financial performance to business outcomes
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment without direct authority
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex issues into actionable recommendations
• Strong written and verbal communication and storytelling capabilities
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities and ambiguity
• Resilient, adaptable, and action-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Builds trust quickly through collaboration, transparency, and consistent execution
