Overview Our client is seeking an experienced FPGA Design Engineer to support advanced aerospace digital hardware development. This role will focus on FPGA design, IP integration, implementation, timing closure, and hardware/software integration for mission-critical aerospace systems. Key Responsibilities
Develop and integrate FPGA functional blocks, interfaces, and IP cores for aerospace applications.
Inherit and modify existing FPGA top-level designs to support new system requirements.
Perform synthesis, simulation, place and route, constraint updates, and timing closure.
Program FPGA devices, primarily Xilinx Versal, Ultrascale, and Ultrascale+ families.
Support hardware, software, and system engineering teams through integration and test.
Troubleshoot FPGA-related issues during lab, system, and platform-level validation.
Produce clear technical documentation covering design decisions, implementation details, and verification results.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
5+ years of FPGA and/or ASIC design experience.
Strong Xilinx/AMD Vivado experience.
Experience with Xilinx Versal family devices.
Proficiency with Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.
Advanced FPGA implementation experience, including synthesis, constraints, and timing closure.
Active Secret clearance.
Strong digital hardware fundamentals and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace, avionics, defense, or mission systems experience.
Experience supporting hardware/software integration and system-level testing.
Familiarity with FPGA development for embedded, real-time, or high-reliability systems.
Strong debugging, documentation, and technical communication skills.
Demonstrated ownership of FPGA deliverables from design through validation.
