FPGA Engineer
Radiant is seeking a driven FPGA Engineer to join our Embedded Systems team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating FPGAs used in the reactor instrumentation and control system for safety critical applications, sensor and actuator handling, and communication systems. This role requires working with hardware engineers, embedded software engineers, and test engineers in a cross-functional setting to develop cohesive designs that meet the demands of controlling and monitoring fission reactors.
You will be a key contributor in testing the first commercial reactor design in over 50 years. This role is based onsite full-time in El Segundo, CA.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Own the design of sensor processing systems from concept to integration. • Implement logic designs in VHDL. • Integrate designs onto FPGA/SoC platforms. • Write automated verification tests. • Work directly with embedded software engineers to deliver complete products. • Collaborate with xfn mechanical, software, and control teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience working with FPGAs. • Knowledge of VHDL. • Experience troubleshooting timing closure issues. • Experience with multi-clock designs. • Understanding of verification methodologies and frameworks.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience with embedded C/C++. • Experience with Microchip PolarFire SoC platform. • Experience with Linux and bash shell scripting. • Experience with Docker. • Excellent documentation skills and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary environments.
