Position Summary
The Practice Manager is a member of the site leadership team who works to ensure the best environment for quality patient-centered care, while overseeing and coordinating all operations at the health center. The Practice Manager collaborates with the site Health Center Medical Director (HCMD) and reports directly to the Director of Practice Management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Train assigned staff, as necessary, to maintain efficient, effective, patient-centered clinical operations.
- Participate in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and evaluating site registration and medical assistant staff.
- Supervise Medical Assistants and Patient Services Representatives at the site.
- Create and manage scheduling templates for all providers, in coordination with health center leadership.
- Assist in development of operational policies and procedures.
- Support, supervise and collaborate with all teams to create a patient-centered environment driven by a strong care coordination model.
- Conduct site and support staff meetings on a regular basis.
- Provide primary oversight and management of VFC programs and purchased vaccines for health center and coordinate any necessary onsite audits.
- Maintain inventory of clinical supplies, equipment, instrumentation, medications, and vaccines.
- Perform front-line staff duties to cover for absences, as needed
Required Knowledge, Experience, or Licensure/Registration
- Prior expereince as a Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or Nurse.
- Clearly communicate, understand, and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- One (1) to three (3) years of full-time experience, preferably in a primary care ambulatory setting as a Lead Medical Assistant, Assistant Practice Manager, or Practice Manager.
- Previous management/supervisory/lead experience required.
- Previous experience using an electronic health record required, with preference for Athena.
- Bilingual Spanish/English or Polish/English strongly preferred.

All wages are based on relevant years of experience and/or time since completing a relevant degree in the related fields. The minimum wage is the wage for an individual with no relevant experience, as determined by the job description and prior organizational practices.
