\nThe Opportunity
\nWe are looking for a Fractional Chief Engineering & Scale Officer with the technical depth, entrepreneurial mindset, and execution ability of a technical founder.
\nDiversyFund already has a Chief Technology Officer who serves as our Chief Architect and technical visionary. He has exceptional technical depth across AI, data, software, and emerging technologies and has architected and built much of our proprietary platform.
\nThis role is designed to complement him—not replace or duplicate him.
\nOur CTO’s highest-value contribution is continuing to drive architecture, technical vision, AI innovation, and the most difficult engineering problems.
\nOur next challenge is scaling the organization around that technical foundation.
\nWe need another senior technical leader who can partner directly with our CTO and CEO to:
\n* Build and scale the engineering team
\n* Translate architecture into an executable roadmap
\n* Establish engineering and project-management discipline
\n* Create clear ownership and accountability
\n* Accelerate recruiting and onboarding
\n* Distribute technical knowledge across the engineering organization
\n* Drive QA, production readiness, and release execution
\n* Get the platform commercially ready for January 2027
\nThink of this as adding another technical-founder-caliber executive to the table—but with a different superpower.

\nYou own engineering scale and execution.
\nTogether, you will build the organization capable of turning that vision into a market-ready product.
\nYour Mission
\nYour mission is straightforward:
\nBuild the engineering machine capable of taking DiversyFund’s platform to market in January 2027.
\nYou will help turn:
\nVision → Architecture → Roadmap → Team → Execution → QA → Production → Commercial Launch
\nThis is not a traditional project-management position.
\nWe need someone technical enough to earn the immediate respect of exceptional engineers, entrepreneurial enough to operate like a founder, and operational enough to turn a small technical organization into a scalable engineering team.
\nWhat You’ll Own
\n1. Build the Engineering Team — Fast
\nOne of your highest priorities will be rapidly increasing our engineering capacity.
\nYou will:
\n* Assess our current engineering organization and capabilities
\n* Identify the talent required to reach January 2027
\n* Design the engineering organization and hiring sequence
\n* Create technical scorecards for priority positions
\n* Source, interview, and evaluate exceptional engineers
\n* Partner with our CTO on technical interviews
\n* Recruit AI, full-stack, data, infrastructure, DevOps, QA, and other talent as required
\n* Rapidly onboard engineers into the existing architecture
\n* Establish clear technical ownership across the team
\n* Reduce single-person dependencies across critical systems
\nWe are not looking to build a bloated engineering department.
\nWe want a small, elite, AI-native engineering organization with extremely high output per person.
\n2. Turn Architecture Into Execution
\nOur CTO remains the Chief Architect and technical authority.
\nYour responsibility is to help turn that architecture into an executable engineering system.
\nYou will establish and manage:
\n* Engineering roadmap
\n* Workstreams and technical owners
\n* Development milestones
\n* Dependencies
\n* Sprint structure
\n* Estimates and committed dates
\n* Resource allocation
\n* QA
\n* Release discipline
\n* Production readiness
\n* Documentation
\n* Delivery accountability
\nAt any moment, leadership should be able to answer:
\nWhat are we building? Who owns it? Where is it? What’s blocking it? When will it ship?
\n3. Create Leverage Around the CTO
\nA major measure of success will be allowing our CTO to spend increasingly more time on the technical work where he creates the greatest value.
\nYou will absorb and systematize much of the organizational work surrounding engineering, including:
\n* Recruiting
\n* Team management
\n* Project coordination
\n* Engineering follow-up
\n* Status reporting
\n* Resource management
\n* Cross-functional coordination
\n* Delivery management
\n* Documentation
\n* Production readiness
\nThe objective is simple:
\nMultiply the CTO’s technical capabilities across an engineering organization.
\n4. Build Technical Knowledge Across the Organization
\nTechnical knowledge and decision-making are currently concentrated within a small team.
\nAs we scale, that knowledge needs to become institutional.
\nYou will work with our CTO and engineers to establish:
\n* Architecture documentation
\n* System maps
\n* Technical specifications
\n* Development documentation
\n* Code and engineering standards
\n* Recorded technical sessions
\n* Runbooks
\n* Engineering onboarding
\n* Architecture reviews
\n* Clear system ownership
\nThis is not about creating bureaucracy.
\nIt is about creating organizational leverage, continuity, and speed.
\n5. Drive January 2027 Product Readiness
\nYou will help own the execution plan between now and commercial launch.
\nThe product needs to systematically move through:
\nBuild → Integration → QA → Internal Use → Beta → Production → Commercial Launch
\nEvery critical workstream should have:
\nOwner + Scope + Dependencies + Milestones + Date + Definition of Done
\nYou will identify the critical path to launch and surface risks early enough to solve them.
\nWe don’t want to discover that a deadline is slipping when the deadline arrives.
\n6. Bridge Founder Vision and Engineering Execution
\nDiversyFund is founder-led.
\nOur CEO operates from business problems, customer needs, workflows, products, competitive advantage, revenue opportunities, and long-term vision.
\nOur CTO translates that vision into architecture and technical solutions.
\nYour role is to help turn those two inputs into organized engineering execution at scale.
\nYou should be comfortable discussing business strategy with the CEO and then immediately moving into a technical conversation with the CTO and engineering team.

\n* Recruiting and team building
\n* Engineering management
\n* Project and program execution

\n* Resource allocation
\n* Cross-functional coordination
\n* QA and production readiness
\n* Release discipline
\n* Documentation and knowledge transfer

\nThis should be a partnership, not a power struggle.
\nThe right candidate will recognize the technical capability already inside DiversyFund and immediately think:
\n“How do I build the organization around this so we can move 5–10x faster?”
\nThis Is NOT Just Project Management
\nAlthough execution and project management are major components of this role, we are not looking for a project manager.
\nYou must have enough technical depth to earn the respect of strong engineers.
\nYou should be capable of:
\n* Understanding sophisticated software architecture
\n* Understanding modern AI/LLM systems
\n* Participating meaningfully in technical design discussions
\n* Understanding APIs and data architecture
\n* Challenging engineering estimates
\n* Evaluating technical talent
\n* Understanding infrastructure and deployment
\n* Identifying technical risks
\n* Reviewing technical designs
\n* Prototyping when necessary
\n* Reviewing code when appropriate
\nOur CTO should be able to communicate with you peer-to-peer technically, while you take significant organizational and execution weight off the engineering function.

\nTitles matter less than what you have actually built and scaled.
\nWe strongly prefer someone who has personally experienced the transition from:

\n* Deep technical background in software engineering and architecture
\n* Strong current understanding of AI, LLMs, agents, and AI-native software development
\n* Experience building and scaling engineering teams

\n* Ability to establish accountability without creating corporate bureaucracy

\n* Create a single engineering roadmap and delivery system

\n* Create hiring scorecards and begin recruiting
\n* Establish a lightweight weekly engineering execution cadence

\n* Distribute technical ownership across engineers
\n* Establish sprint and release cadence
\n* Begin systematic technical knowledge transfer
\n* Move priority platform components toward production
\n* Establish QA and production-readiness processes
\n* Track execution directly against the January launch plan
\nOutcome: Engineering velocity increases materially and technical capability begins scaling across the organization.
