Sumter Local Government Consulting is seeking experienced local government finance leaders to join our team as a Fractional Finance Director supporting local government clients in Georgia (currently metro Atlanta). This role offers a flexible blend of remote work and on -site engagement in client offices, providing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.<\/span><\/span>

Position Highlights:<\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>- Serve as a Fractional Finance Director, for city and county clients<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Provide financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting aligned with local government best practices<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Act as a trusted advisor to city managers, county administrators, and elected officials<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Support process improvements in accounting, compliance, and financial operations<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Participate in business development activities, including conferences, client meetings, and proposal support<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Collaborate with a team of former local government leaders delivering high -impact consulting services<\/span>
<\/span><\/li><\/ul>Ideal Candidate:<\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in local government finance as a Finance Director/Assistant Finance Director<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Strong knowledge of public sector budgeting, accounting, and financial management practices<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with executives and elected officials<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Self -motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable managing multiple client engagements<\/span>
