POSITION SUMMARY
The Framingham Youth Theatre FYT Summer Program Aide provides essential instructional and operational support to the Teacher ensuring the effective delivery of enriching summer programs for our students. This role is responsible for enhancing the educational experience by assisting with project-based learning, managing program materials, and supporting classroom management to maintain a productive environment. Key responsibilities include modeling positive behavior, supporting social-emotional development, and assisting with daily logistics such as student arrivals and departures.
The Framingham Youth Theatre FYT Summer Program Aide serves as a relatable role model requiring enthusiasm, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Framingham Public Schools seeks candidates whose background, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging in all aspects of education.
Educational Requirement: Candidates must be current high school students.
Professional Experience: Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or community-based setting is preferred.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is strongly preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In strategic collaboration with the Teacher, assist in the facilitation of all program activities and support seamless transitions between academic and enrichment sessions.
Actively assist with daily bus arrival and departure procedures, ensuring the safe and organized transition of students to and from transportation in coordination with program staff.
Serve as a positive peer mentor, inspiring students to set and achieve ambitious academic and personal goals while maintaining high expectations for success.
Serve as a relatable role model for students by exemplifying the highest standards of professionalism and conduct in accordance with Framingham Public Schools core values.
Proactively build and maintain positive, appropriate, and supportive relationships with students, colleagues, and program supervisors.
Assist in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for all students, ensuring the full inclusion and participation of students with special needs and multilingual learners.
Attend and provide operational support for family engagement activities and other special program events as required to strengthen the school-community connection.
Participate in all required meetings, training, and professional development sessions to ensure readiness for summer programming.
Support the daily logistical needs of the program, including student check-in, out, meal times, and the organization of program materials as requested by the Program Director.

REPORTS TO
The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Framingham School Committee Contract.
FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT FLSA CLASSIFICATION
This position is classified as Non-Exempt Hourly.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Program Duration: This role is for July and early August. Candidates must be available to attend all mandatory summer program orientation and training days held in late June.
Attendance Requirement: Consistent attendance for the full duration of the summer programming is a prerequisite for eligibility and continued employment in this role.
Contractual Status: This position is covered under the Framingham School Committee Contract.
Operational Flexibility: The District reserves the right to transfer personnel to different school sites or programs based on student enrollment, specialized needs, and the best interests of the children.
