TAIT is looking for experienced Freelance Event Logistics Managers (U.S.-based) to support a major project taking place on-site in Washington, DC from July to late October 2026, with remote work beginning June 2026.  Travel and accommodations will be provided for on site time.

This is a temporary contract role, not a full-time staff position.

Position Purpose:
The Freelance Event Logistics Manager will lead solicitation and development of vendor research, proposals and quoting, oversee and maintain production schedules, and oversee vendor/contractor work on site.   The ideal candidate will be experienced with outdoor, large scale, temporary event builds.
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Lead solicitation and development of department vendor proposals, including office trailers, heavy equipment, fencing, site sanitation & facilities, crew catering, radios, traffic management, etc.
  • Assist in day-to-day oversight of Logistics Coordinators and Office Managers
  • Oversee site purchasing, shipping, and receiving, including documentation and tracking of elements.
  • Oversee site trucking and deliveries
  • Contribute to and maintain knowledge of production schedule
  • Contribute to development of site access and credential management system
  • Support in the development and delivery of special projects with research for suppliers, logistics, and other resources as assigned.
  • Lead vendor onboarding, paperwork, and communications 
  • Develop understanding and maintain knowledge of department budget
  • Participate in hiring and scheduling Production Assistants and Runners
  • Track ongoing vendor needs onsite including communicating schedule adjustments and project developments.
  • Approve on site purchases and additions, escalating for budget approval as needed
  • Support and coordinate sustainability practices and tracking.
  • Support all departments with on-the-ground needs
  • This position is intentionally fluid, duties will shift based on daily priorities, team needs, and across-department demands.
Position Requirements: 
  • 5+ years of large scale, event management, production, or related experience; Bachelor's degree preferred. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong project management and budget management abilities. 
  • Highly organized with a detail‑driven, proactive approach. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Airtable, and similar tools. 
  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude with the ability to work under pressure. 
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and irregular hours based on event needs. 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. 
  • Professionalism, discretion, and tact when handling sensitive information.
