Piedmont Global is looking for freelance interpreters (OSI)<\/b> to provide language interpretation services from EN<>All Spoken Languages. (Spanish, Mandarin, and Cantonese interpreters are strongly encouraged to apply.<\/b>)
<\/div>

<\/div>
These are “1099” (Independent Contractor) positions with the interpretation to take place on site (OS), via video (VRI) or over the phone (OPI), depending on our customers’ specific needs.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Interpreter Functions:<\/b>
<\/div>
• Serve as an Interpreter between a wide range of people with diverse voices, accents, speaking tempos and personalities.
<\/div>
• Provide parties with clear and exact interpretations of verbal communication with no additions or omissions.
<\/div>
• Provide interpretations of questions, answers, statements, arguments, explanations, and other forms of verbal communication.
<\/div>
• Render sight translations of documents and other written materials, as needed.
<\/div>
• Impart thought, purpose, spirit, emotions, and tone of speaker from source language into target language, and vice -versa.
<\/div>
• Inform relevant parties of any factor that may hinder your performance.
<\/div>
• Comply with applicable ethics and standards.
<\/div>

Requirements<\/h3>
Medical Interpreter<\/u> MINIMUM qualifications (medical settings):<\/b>
<\/div>
• At least two (2) years of interpreting experience, paid or as a volunteer
<\/div>
• Two (2) relevant professional references that can vouch for the candidate’s work as an interpreter OR one (1) relevant professional reference and one (1) relevant professional letter of recommendation
<\/div>
• Native -level proficiency in English and another language.
<\/div>
• Certification as a medical interpreter from a 40 -hour program or equivalent, specifically for medical interpreting (i.e., CHIT Community Healthcare Interpreter Training)
<\/div>
• Valid driver’s license, or any government -issued valid form of identification.
<\/div><\/blockquote>
Desired but not required:<\/b>
<\/div>
• University degree in interpretation
<\/div>

<\/div>
If available, interpreters should provide proof of:<\/b>
<\/div>
• Certifications
<\/div>
• Test results from other organizations (testing centers, other LSPs, etc.).
