Piedmont Global<\/b> is looking for freelance Interpreters on -site to provide language interpretation services from EN<>All Languages.<\/b> (Spanish, ASL, Arabic, Albanian, French, Khmer, Korean, Mandarin, and Vietnamese interpreters are strongly encouraged to apply.)
<\/div>

<\/div>
These are "1099" (Independent Contractor) positions with the Interpretation to take place on -site (OS), via video (VRI), or over the phone (OPI), depending on our customers' specific needs.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Interpreter Functions:
<\/div>
• Serve as an Interpreter between a wide range of people with diverse voices, accents, speaking tempos, and personalities.
<\/div>
• Provide parties with exact interpretations of verbal communication without additions or omissions.
<\/div>
• Provide interpretations of questions, answers, statements, arguments, explanations, and other forms of verbal communication.
<\/div>
• Render sight translations of documents and other written materials as needed.
<\/div>
• Impart the speaker's thoughts, purpose, spirit, emotions, and tone from a source language into a target language, and vice -versa.
<\/div>
• Inform relevant parties of any factors that may hinder your performance.
<\/div>
• Comply with applicable ethics and standards
<\/div><\/span>
Requirements<\/h3>

<\/div>
•Hold a government -issued valid form of identification
<\/div>
•Based near the Washington DC metropolitan area
<\/div>
•Access to a mobile phone and computer
<\/div>

<\/div>
Interpreter MINIMUM qualifications:<\/b>
<\/b><\/div>
• At least two (2) years of interpreting experience, paid or as a volunteer
<\/div>
• Two (2) relevant professional references that can vouch for the candidate's work as an interpreter OR one (1) relevant professional reference and one (1) relevant professional letter of recommendation
<\/div>
• Proficiency in English and target language.
<\/div>
• Be able to abide by the Client's specific and State mandated COVID regulations. Piedmont Global<\/b> supports several Federal Government clients and other contracts requiring a COVID vaccination or exemption for U.S. based individuals.
<\/div>

Desired but not required:<\/b>
<\/div>
• University degree in Interpretation
<\/div>
If available, the interpreters may provide proof of the following:
<\/div>
• Certification as a medical interpreter from a 40 -hour -program or equivalent (i.e., CHIT Community, Bridging the Gap, TCI, Healthcare Interpreter Training)
<\/div>
• Test results from other organizations (testing centers, other LSPs, etc.)
<\/div>
