AWS Infrastructure is looking for a talented, driven, and highly analytical, Freight Audit Payment Specialist with a hunger for driving change and impact at a global scale to join Amazon Web Services team. The Freight Audit Payment Specialist is responsible for freight audit and payment operations, driving process improvements and providing insights into transportation spend management. The successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, and have a passion for using data to drive business decisions. Key job responsibilities

  • Partner with your team to oversee freight audit operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency across high-volume invoice processing.
  • Develop analytical models / automation efforts and engage in continuous innovation and communication with both operations & other business partners
  • Create a "learn by doing" environment by engaging with financial analysts and business partners to promote and encourage continued customer focus and cost reduction
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce manual effort and enhance audit effectiveness
  • Resolve billing issues: Work collaboratively with Logistics Service Providers (LSPs), internal procurement teams, and accounts payable to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Work with technology teams and payable teams to ensure timely freight invoice payments and provide excellent customer and vendor experience.
  • Optimize freight costs: Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements by analyzing freight expenses and communicating with Logistics Service Providers (LSPs).
  • Identify, develop, manage and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Mentor and train junior analysts on audit techniques and data analysis. Share knowledge through documentation and cross-functional collaboration
  • Stay informed: Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in freight auditing and logistics to enhance performance.

A day in the life

As a Cost Controller, the Builder starts the day reviewing freight invoices, auditing for billing issues and ensuring proper financial controls are in place. The Builder then performs analytics while promoting innovative idea to advance auditing. The Builder partners extensively with Accounts Payable and Finance to guarantee timely vendor payments. Builder afternoons often involve advanced data analysis, creating outlier reports to flag abnormal spend and compiling monthly evaluations benchmarking disruption trends. The Builder ends each day connecting with cross-functional business partners, reviewing gaps and providing direction.
