This role supports CRST's Capacity Solutions team, our brokerage and managed transportation business. Capacity Solutions helps customers keep freight moving by combining CRST assets with a large network of carrier partners to deliver flexible transportation solutions across North America.
The Opportunity We're looking for a Freight Broker to build carrier relationships, cover freight and help customers keep their supply chains moving. This is a relationship-driven sales role where success comes from your ability to negotiate, solve problems, make quick decisions and build a strong network of carrier partners. How You'll Work
Location: Onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Additional Schedule Expectations: Rotating Saturday coverage and two holidays per year
Compensation: Competitive compensation package. Additional details will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process.

What You'll Do
Source, onboard and manage third-party carrier relationships across CRST's brokerage network
Negotiate carrier rates while protecting margin and service expectations
Match available carrier capacity with customer freight needs
Use transportation management and brokerage systems to execute and track shipments
Communicate with carriers, dispatchers, drivers and internal teams throughout the shipment lifecycle
Resolve service issues and keep stakeholders informed when disruptions occur
Monitor carrier performance, market conditions and capacity trends
Support teammates with carrier coverage needs across regions when necessary
Build long-term carrier partnerships that create repeat business opportunities
Track performance metrics related to margin, service and carrier utilization

Experience working in a role measured by goals, performance metrics or commission-based results
