Position Summary
Responsible for managing, coordinating, and supporting inbound and outbound freight requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating all transportation for inbound/outbound shipments, including site and intercompany
transfers. Ensures all loads are utilized at maximum capacity and optimize routing to reduce freight costs.
- Monitor and update Shipping Calendar and provide essential communication with appropriate personnel.
- Manage outbound freight charges ensuring processing fees are added to the pack list so accurate and timely invoicing
can occur.
- Communicate with Carriers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of Steffes products.
- Coordinate all expedited shipments to minimize impact to production while still minimizing cost.
- Initiate, monitor, and follow up on freight claims to ensure accurate compensation is received.
- Coordinates with buyers to ensure most cost-effective transportation is selected.
- Track and trace shipments. Ensure optimal communication with Sales, Customers, & Shipping & Receiving.
- Audit, approve, and code freight bills and assist in timely payment for all freight related invoices.
- Contest any freight invoice discrepancies with freight carriers and follow up on resolutions.
- Act as a subject matter expert for best packaging practices and freight classification.
- Manage NAFTA and customs invoicing.
- Work with Logistics Specialist to evaluate freight metrics and KPI's to support continual process improvement.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in collaborative manner with customers,
suppliers, co-workers, and management.
- Helps company meet its Strategic, Quality and Safety objectives.

Job Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Purchasing Management, Supply Chain or Engineering
- 2+ years of related work experience in freight management, preferred.
- Intermediate computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, etc.)
- Written and verbal communication
- Ability to perform math computations and analysis.
- OR-
- An acceptable combination of education and experience
Functional & Cognitive Requirements of Position
- This position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree.
- Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 20 pounds.
- Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs.
- Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending.
- Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for some activities.
- Visual acuity is required to inspect work completed.
