SPS Global is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Route Driver/Courier to support on-site courier and delivery operations in Santa Clara, California. This role plays an important part in maintaining efficient internal logistics by ensuring timely and secure delivery of mail and parcels across campus locations.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service.
The Route Driver/Courier provides exceptional courier services by receiving delivery orders from centralized dispatch, retrieving parcels and mail from designated locations, and delivering them safely and efficiently across the campus.
In addition to delivery responsibilities, this role may provide support for other office services functions, ensuring operational continuity and maintaining a high level of service for both SPS and client employees.
Reports To:
Client Services Supervisor, Client Services Manager, or equivalent leadership
Travel a predefined courier route via automobile to deliver mail and parcels across campus locations
Perform scheduled pickups and deliveries following maps and written instructions
Maintain detailed logs and timestamps for items received and delivered
Ensure compliance with chain-of-custody procedures and operating standards
Respond to client requests and ensure deliveries are completed accurately and on time
Complete all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner
Operate delivery vehicles safely in accordance with state laws and company policies
Maintain vehicle readiness by performing routine maintenance checks (fuel levels, fluids, oil changes, tire rotation, etc.)
Follow company procedures in the event of accidents or injuries
Provide 5-star customer service across all communication channels
Maintain a professional appearance and represent SPS appropriately
Build professional relationships with customers and internal teams
Maintain composure and professionalism when handling sensitive inquiries
Proactively seek additional tasks during downtime
Provide front or back office coverage as needed
Assist with shipping and receiving operations
Support packing verification and shipping documentation when required
Train backup personnel and provide guidance on procedures and policies
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to work assigned hours as determined by manager
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems
2+ years of related courier, delivery, or logistics experience
Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures
Experience working with multifunction devices (MFDs) and office equipment
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks
Problem-solving and analytical thinking
Adaptability and professionalism in a dynamic work environment
Ability to lift or move packages weighing up to 40 lbs. or more frequently
Ability to move packages using wheeled carts with capacity up to 60 lbs.
Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand, or sit for extended periods
Manual dexterity for operating office equipment and delivery tools
Physical and mental ability to safely operate a company vehicle
