A Cross Dock Forklift Operator is a forklift driver who moves freight directly from incoming trucks to outgoing trucks or staging areas with little or no long-term storage in a warehouse.
Their primary goal is to keep products moving quickly through the distribution center.
Responsibilities include:
Loading and unloading trailers using a forklift.
Moving pallets from receiving docks to shipping docks.
Staging freight for immediate outbound shipment.
Verifying pallet labels, quantities, and destinations.
Inspecting products for damage.
Using RF scanners or warehouse management systems to track inventory.
Following safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area.
Meeting productivity and shipping deadlines.
Skills required:
Certified forklift operation
Experience in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (if required by the employer).
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
