Position Summary M Jones Companies is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Freight Specialist to support moving, transportation, logistics, and project operations. The Freight Specialist is responsible for assisting with the planning, preparation, loading, securing, transportation, and unloading of materials, equipment, furnishings, and freight associated with residential, commercial, government, and construction-related projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring cargo is handled safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and industry standards. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** Assist with the preparation and execution of transportation and logistics projects. Load, unload, and move freight, equipment, furniture, and construction materials. Secure loads using appropriate straps, tie-downs, blocking, bracing, and protective materials. Verify shipments and inspect cargo for damage or discrepancies. Assist with packing, staging, inventory control, and material handling activities. Support project mobilization and demobilization efforts. Operate hand trucks, dollies, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Maintain accurate work orders, delivery documentation, and inventory records. Follow all company safety procedures and transportation regulations. Assist drivers, supervisors, and project managers with logistics coordination. Maintain clean and organized work areas, vehicles, and equipment. Perform other logistics and operational duties as assigned. **Qualifications** High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous moving, freight, warehouse, logistics, transportation, or construction experience preferred. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly. Ability to work in varying weather and job-site conditions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Reliable transportation and punctual attendance. Forklift certification is a plus but not required **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** Understanding of cargo securement principles and safe material handling practices. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a crew. Knowledge of basic inventory and logistics procedures is preferred.
