Primary Health Care Centers is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Front Desk Floater (Patient Services Representative) to join our team. This position is based out of our OLR location but requires regular travel to our various clinic locations to provide front office coverage as needed. As a Front Desk Floater, you will provide exceptional customer service while assisting patients from check-in through check-out. You will rotate between clinic locations, providing coverage during vacations, leaves of absence, staffing shortages, and other operational needs to help ensure seamless patient care.
What You'll Do
- Travel to various PHC clinic locations to provide front office coverage as needed.
- Greet and assist patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments.
- Verify insurance, demographic, and patient registration information.
- Collect copays and outstanding balances.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Balance daily receipts and prepare cash deposits.
- Assist patients with medication assistance program applications and documentation.
- Answer basic billing questions and provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Cross-train in all front office functions and provide support wherever needed.
- Participate in required HIPAA, OSHA, and Emergency Preparedness training.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous customer service or medical office experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn electronic medical record systems (EMR).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between PHC clinic locations on a regular basis.
- Dependable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing work locations and staffing needs.
