The Front Desk Worker welcomes guests, explain programs and activities, reporting and resolving complaints, responsible for providing quality customer service by assisting patrons. Greeting and interacting with members and guests as they enter and exit the facility. Explaining, promoting and registering members for various programs, classes and activities. Reporting directly to the department Office Manager, this position is responsible for all point of sale operations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Oversees the access into the building, conducts debit/credit Point of Sale (POS) operations, and ensures recreational equipment is accounted for and ready for use. Providing customer service to the patrons of the Thomas C. Courtway Student Recreation Center (T-Rec) and the Department of Campus Recreation and Wellness and ensuring all entering the facility are authorized or eligible. Other duties include providing information via the telephone, conducting various monetary transactions, enforcing policies, assisting with building cleanliness, and overseeing the use of department equipment to patrons. Some manual labor is required during the setup of various recreational events.

Thorough operational knowledge of the Department Campus Recreation and Wellness, to include the various entities of the department, in order to provide information to all inquiries. Customer service skills (i.e. friendly personality, communicate effectively, handle stressful situations), able to work in a fast pace environment, certification in American Red Cross CPR/ First Aid/AED, and a current student in good academic standing.

Must be able to work weekends and during the normal hours of operation.
