    Amazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

    Have you wanted an opportunity to develop the software applications and services for an advanced global telecom service? This role of for an experienced Frontend Software Engineer who will design, implement, and operate globally available distributed systems geared towards customer education, procurement, and management of Leo services and devices. You'll build systems using the latest technologies, leveraging best-in-industry software engineering practices.

    Key job responsibilities

    Actively participate in overall product strategy and UI presentation.

    Be involved in every aspect of the UI for new features - from idea generation, exploring different design options, and technical design through software development using the latest technologies and design patterns.

    Collaborate with Software Development Engineers, Product Managers, UX Designers to ensure the best experience for our customers.

    Design highly functional and lovable UI. The software must be well tested and high quality.

    UI must be compliant with accessibility standards set at Amazon.

    Design and implement globally available distributed cloud architectures.

    Partner with device software, satellite, networking, and security engineering teams.

    Have you wanted an opportunity to develop the software applications and services for an advanced global telecom service? This role is for an FEE who will design, build, and maintain components and services of Amazon Leo"s Customer Engagement Systems and interact with the core Leo Network.

    About the team

    The Optical Inter-Satellite Link (OISL) organization is responsible for the design and development of hardware and software that enables laser-based communication between satellites. As we rapidly scale, we are establishing a new Network Automation team and seeking a Front End Engineer to help build and lead it.

    In this role, you will drive the development of software applications that deliver intuitive user experiences, streamline fault troubleshooting, and simplify network reporting. You will leverage ML/AI technologies to detect and correlate anomalies across the space network, identify root causes, predict customer impacts, and present insights through clear, actionable timelines.
