Description

We are seeking an experienced Front-End React Developer to design, develop, test, and support a modern, secure, data-intensive enterprise web application. The successful candidate will develop responsive, accessible, and maintainable user interfaces using React and will work closely with solution architects, backend developers, AI/ML engineers, DevOps engineers, QA personnel, and business stakeholders.

The role focuses on interactive dashboards, workflow interfaces, record-management screens, search and filtering, reporting, data visualization, and integration with backend APIs and enterprise services. The team follows Agile/Scrum practices with iterative development, sprint-based delivery, demonstrations, testing, and continuous stakeholder feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise web applications using React.

• Develop reusable, modular, maintainable React components and responsive, accessible user interfaces.

• Develop interactive dashboards, complex forms, data tables, record-detail screens, workflow interfaces, search, filtering, sorting, pagination, navigation, and saved views.

• Integrate React applications with RESTful APIs and backend services and implement appropriate client-side state management and data-fetching patterns.

• Implement role-aware user experiences and support enterprise authentication and authorization, including SSO and MFA.

• Develop interfaces for AI-generated or AI-assisted content and support human review and approval workflows.

• Implement reporting, data visualization, and self-service export functionality.

• Work with SQL/MariaDB relational data structures and write or understand SQL queries for development, testing, troubleshooting, and data validation.

• Translate requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and wireframes into production-quality interfaces.

• Develop unit, component, and integration tests; participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards.

• Troubleshoot front-end, browser, API integration, and application-performance issues.

• Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, and production deployment.

• Work effectively in a Linux-based development environment using VS Code, Git, package managers, build tools, debugging tools, and common shell utilities.

• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews/demos, retrospectives, estimation, and release activities.

• Collaborate with the Product Owner/Scrum team to refine user stories, define acceptance criteria, estimate work, and deliver committed sprint objectives.

• Develop and maintain appropriate technical documentation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• 5+ years of professional front-end or web application development experience, including 3+ years of hands-on React development.

• Strong proficiency in React, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.

• Strong understanding of functional components, hooks, reusable component design, routing, state management, and modern React development patterns.

• Experience developing enterprise-scale, data-intensive web applications and dashboards and integrating them with RESTful APIs.

• Working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts; familiarity with MariaDB/MySQL tables, relationships, queries, views, and data structures.

• Experience with Git, automated front-end testing, responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and secure front-end development practices.

• Experience working in Linux-based development environments and comfort with the Linux command line/shell, environment variables, file systems, permissions, logs, and common development utilities.

• Experience using Visual Studio Code (VS Code) or a comparable modern IDE for development, debugging, source control, linting, and code-quality workflows.

• Understanding of authentication, authorization, session management, and role-based access concepts.

• Hands-on experience working as part of an Agile/Scrum software development team, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React Router and modern state/data-management approaches.

• Experience with React Testing Library, Jest, Vitest, or comparable testing frameworks.

• Hands-on experience with MariaDB/MySQL-backed enterprise applications.

• Experience with enterprise UI/component libraries and data-visualization tools.

• Experience with Section 508/WCAG accessibility requirements.

• Experience with enterprise SSO/MFA, Microsoft 365, and/or SharePoint integrations.

• Experience developing workflow-oriented applications and interfaces incorporating AI/ML or LLM-generated content.

• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.

• Familiarity with Posit (formerly RStudio) products and development environments is a plus.

• Experience working with data science, analytics, AI/ML, research teams, federal government, healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated environments is a plus.

Target salary range: $100,001 - $140,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
