    Job Description

    The FOH Supervisor is a position that is found in locations with a high business volume and an expansive and complex food and beverage operation. This position supervises and directs the activities of servers, runners, baristas and cashiers. The dining room supervisor participates in and conducts daily pre-shift meetings.

    The FOH Supervisor possesses the highest comprehension of our food and beverage menus, and is ultimately responsible for providing present, proper, refined tableside and bar service for various meal periods including lunch and happy hour. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Garces Group may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supervise the bar, restaurant, market and app-based delivery.
    • Manage daily shift operations in food and beverage
    • Conduct pre-shift meetings, plate spec review
    • Supervise orientation with new servers, runners, and bartenders.
    • Maintain accurate daily paperwork, including payroll and inventory.
    • Participate in interviewing and hiring all FOH staff, service training, and preparing all new hire documents.
    • Maintains a training program for all FOH on knowledge of steps of service, wine, and culinary knowledge.
    • Skill in resolving customer concerns, consistently demonstrating professional communication skills and ability to promote positive public relations
    • Graciously and properly handles payment
    • Responsible for knowing the food and beverage options available, while also being able to describe the items to the guests and answer questions about the menu
    • Ability to have a friendly demeanor when present in the restaurant and market
    • Must be able to follow written and verbal instruction

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous serving/bartending experience preferred
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Demonstrates ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner
    • Must be able to lift plates up to 20 lbs., and carry food and beverage up and down stairs
    • Willingness to work in a team environment, where learning and collaboration is of the utmost importance.
