Job Summary We are seeking a Bilingual Medical Front Office Receptionist to join our team! You will be responsible for greeting patients who come in the door, checking them in, and pulling relevant patient files or obtaining new patient information, managing the schedule, running eligibility and other duties. You will also answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate place, mail or fax documentation to the appropriate offices, and maintain excellent medical and correspondence records, as appropriate. The ideal candidate is very organized, has strong customer service and interpersonal skills, and works well independently and within a team.
Responsibilities
Greet and check in patients professionally and ensure a welcoming, organized front desk environment.
Verify patient demographics, contact information, insurance information, and responsible-party information.
Obtain copies of insurance cards, photo identification, and any required patient documentation.
Ensure all required registration, consent, financial, and facility forms are completed and signed prior to the procedure.
Verify that scheduled patients are properly entered into the ASC system and that demographic and insurance information is accurate.
Review the daily surgery/procedure schedule and prepare necessary paperwork prior to patient arrival.
Communicate patient arrivals, cancellations, late arrivals, and schedule changes to clinical staff.
Collect patient responsibility amounts, including copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and other amounts due when instructed.
Process payments accurately and provide receipts to patients.
Maintain accurate documentation of payments and reconcile front desk collections as required.
Answer incoming telephone calls, route calls appropriately, and take accurate messages.
Communicate professionally with patients, family members, physician offices, vendors, and other healthcare facilities.
Coordinate with the clinic regarding missing patient information, orders, authorizations, clearances, or other documentation needed for scheduled procedures.
Monitor the lobby/waiting area and communicate appropriately with patient family members and responsible drivers regarding patient status and facility procedures.
Confirm that patients have an appropriate responsible adult/driver when required for discharge.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements at all times.
Scan, upload, file, and organize patient documents in the appropriate system.
Assist with medical record requests and ensure appropriate authorization is obtained before releasing information.
