Front Office Coordinator
at the Clearlake VA Clinic
in support of the VA San Francisco Health Care Network
Clinic Hours-M-F, 8:00 am-4:30pm, 8 hr. shifts ( 40 hour weeks, no OT)
SUMMARY:
Provides clerical/administrative support. Schedules appointments, In addition to scheduling requested appointments, this position will call patients to schedule, reschedule, and/or cancel appointments as needed, to include appointments for consult/referral specialty care, ability to multitask is essential.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Mandatory knowledge and skills:
· A fully qualified typist (computer keyboard) with a minimum of 50 WPM is required.
General medical ethics, telephone etiquette, and excellent communication and customer service skills.
General office administrative and clerical skills to perform receptionist duties and answer telephones, patient registration.
Medical appointment scheduling.
medical billing or coding would be an helpful but not required.
Working with medical insurance.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Proficient in Microsoft Office-Excel and word.
Basic Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
comfortable with using different types of computer programs and equipment.
Education:
· High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
Experience:
· Minimum (6) months general clerical experience and (6) months using computer programs that focus on appoint ment scheduling (EMR, EHR systems)
