The Front Office Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations for a busy Ophthalmology practice. This position involves managing appointment scheduling, handling phone communications, and providing excellent patient service within a large front office team. The receptionist reports directly to the Office Manager and Department Manager and uses specialized ophthalmology practice management and electronic health record (EHR) systems including Next Gen and Curio.
Responsibilities
Schedule and manage patient appointments efficiently
Handle incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately
Enter patient and appointment data accurately into practice management systems
Communicate clearly and effectively with patients and staff
Check patients in promptly and assist with front desk needs
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years experience in Medical front office reception
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong customer service and telephone etiquette skills
Experience with appointment scheduling and communication
Demonstrated multitasking and organizational abilities
Knowledge of EMR/EHR system
