    Job Overview
    Southwoods Health is seeking a Lead Front Office Specialist to oversee front office operations across our outpatient Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation locations. This role balances hands-on administrative duties (85%) with operational leadership and staff support (15%). The ideal candidate ensures high-quality patient service, promotes consistent workflows, and fosters team accountability across multiple sites.
     
    Essential Duties
    • Provide leadership: Serve as the primary resource and mentor for Front Office Specialists.
    • Bridge communication: Act as the direct liaison between front office staff and service line management.
    • Conduct site visits: Travel regularly to outpatient locations to audit front office efficiency and compliance.
    • Support operations: Assist staff with scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and procedural questions.
    • Report performance: Monitor front office quality metrics and share performance reports with leadership.
    • Streamline workflow: Coordinate with authorization, referral, and call center leads to optimize operations.
    • Train personnel: Assist with the onboarding, training, and professional development of new hires.
    • Deliver direct care: Perform standard front office duties with a focus on exceptional patient and provider service.
     
    Qualifications
    • Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of two years in a medical front office environment.
    • Specialty background: Previous experience in outpatient rehabilitation or physical therapy preferred.
    • Leadership skills: Demonstrated mentorship, team lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
    • Technical proficiency: Skilled in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office.
    • Core competencies: Strong time management, clear communication, and sharp attention to detail.
     
    Schedule & Benefits
    • Type: Full-Time
    • Shift: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. One late night until 7pm.
