Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Technician (Level I–III)

Abacus Staffing is hiring experienced FRP Technicians for a growing operations team in Orlando, FL. This role is ideal for candidates with fiberglass experience, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Schedule
  • Monday – Friday
  • 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
    • 30-minute unpaid lunch
    • 15-minute paid break
Key Responsibilities
  • Work with fiberglass materials in a warehouse/production setting
  • Perform field installation and production-related tasks
  • Read and interpret written work instructions and procedures
  • Measure accurately using tape measures (up to 1/8" or better)
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment
  • Communicate professionally with team members and leadership
Level I Requirements
  • 1+ year of fiberglass or related field installation experience
  • Knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment used in the industry
  • Ability to read a tape measure to at least 1/8 inch
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Must bring personal carpentry hand tools (tool pouch, tape measure, speed square, pliers, screwdrivers, chisel, pry bars, etc.)
Level II Requirements (In Addition to Level I)
  • 3+ years of experience in plaster or related work (non-theming)
  • Ability to read tape measure to 1/16 inch
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Mechanically inclined
Level III Requirements (In Addition to Level II)
  • 4+ years of experience in themed entertainment or show set production
  • Advanced skills in mold making, structural integrity, and finishing
  • Ability to read and analyze complex engineering drawings, lay-up charts, and blueprints
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 lbs with assistance or equipment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive motions
  • Capable of overhead work, pushing, pulling, and lifting
Work Environment
  • Warehouse setting with changing conditions
  • Requires strong awareness of surroundings and safety at all times
