    The FRP Laborer is responsible for assisting with the installation, repair, maintenance, and fabrication of FRP components and systems in industrial environments. This position supports FRP Craftsmen and Technicians with material preparation, surface preparation, jobsite setup, cleanup, and other general labor activities.

    Role and Responsibilities

    • Assist FRP Craftsmen and Technicians with the fabrication, installation, repair, and maintenance of FRP piping, tanks, ducts, vessels, and structural components. 
    • Perform surface preparation activities, including cleaning, sanding, grinding, and preparing surfaces for fiberglass and resin application.
    • Assist with cutting and preparing fiberglass mats, cloth, and other FRP materials as directed.
    • Assist with the mixing and application of resins and related materials under the direction of experienced FRP personnel.
    • Use basic hand and power tools, grinders, cutting equipment, and other tools as trained and authorized.
    • Load, unload, move, and organize materials, tools, and equipment throughout the jobsite.
    • Ensure that safety protocols and guidelines are adhered to during all tasks, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting any hazards to supervisors.
    • Perform quality checks on work tasks to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
    • Clean and maintain tools, machinery, and work areas, ensuring they are ready for use.
    • Support the team in troubleshooting and addressing basic issues with materials, tools, or equipment.
    • Help maintain project timelines by ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by project supervisors. 

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 2+ years of experience in an industrial or construction environment, with some exposure to specialized craft work.
    • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other industrial equipment.
    • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or project plans.
    • Knowledge of basic industrial safety practices and ability to follow safety guidelines.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
    • Good physical endurance and the ability to perform manual labor tasks.
    • Must be able to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and handle a variety of work environments. 

      Physical Requirements

      • Work is primarily performed on construction job sites, exposed to outdoor elements and varying weather conditions.
      • Must be able to work in confined spaces or elevated areas depending on the project.
      • Physical labor may be required, including the ability to lift and move equipment or materials.
      • Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times for safety.
      • Flexibility to work extended hours or on weekends as project schedules require.

      The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation

      The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
