Country Club of Spartanburg (CCS) – Spartanburg, SC

The Country Club of Spartanburg is seeking a reliable and hardworking Fry Cook to join our culinary team. This position is responsible for preparing high-quality fried food items while maintaining cleanliness, consistency, and food safety standards in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Position Summary

The Fry Cook prepares fried menu items and assists with food preparation for daily dining service and club events. This role works closely with the Sous Chef and kitchen team to ensure all food is prepared according to CCS standards and recipes.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prepare fried foods and other assigned menu items during service
  • Set up and stock fry station according to daily pars and kitchen needs
  • Follow standardized recipes and preparation procedures
  • Operate fryers and kitchen equipment safely and properly
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
  • Properly store unused food products and minimize waste
  • Assist with additional food preparation and line support as needed
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards
  • Return utensils and smallwares to designated cleaning areas
  • Report maintenance or repair needs for fry station equipment
  • Participate in kitchen staff meetings and team training
  • Complete additional duties assigned by the Sous Chef or Executive Chef

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous kitchen or fry cook experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of culinary and food preparation techniques
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • Strong teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Food safety certification preferred or ability to obtain

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout shifts
  • Comfortable working around hot oil, heat, humidity, and kitchen noise
