FSQ Technician - Team CPay Rate: $28.50 +2.00 Shift DifferentialSchedule: 5:30 PM - 6:00 AM12-hour shifts 2-2-3 rotating weekends.FLSA Status (US): Non-ExemptReports To: FSQ SupervisorJob Summary:The FSQ Technician is responsible for performing necessary laboratory testing to ensureingredients, product and packaging conform to specifications. QA Technician follows written and verbalinstructions to determine that quality and efficiency standards are being met. In addition, the QA Technician isresponsible for the efficiency, safety and quality of laboratory work and for effective communication relative toshift and plant performance.Essential Functions of the Job:Assure package integrity and product quality by performing laboratory testing and aseptic packageevaluation procedures
Perform laboratory testing such as pH, solids/moisture, sodium, etcPerform destructive aseptic package testingAssist with investigations related to product spoilageCollect and communicate lab data with Quality Supervisor and Operations Shift LeadersPerform incubation activities according to standard operating proceduresMaintain a clean and organized workstationTroubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties involving area equipmentResponsible for laboratory equipment calibrations at specified intervalsAccurately prepares and maintains all area paperworkPerform microbiology testing including basic plating in clean room environment, stocking lab, shippingsamples, retrieving results, and communicating to management as neededAll other duties as assigned
Key Accountabilities:SafetyFollow all facility human and food safety policies including proper use of PPEReport all near misses and accidents to the production supervisorQualityUnderstand SQF code, FSMA, HACCP, and Food DefenseAwareness of Food Safety and Quality requirements that pertain to the plant and specific roleFollow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to conduct required testing for products prior to processing, afterprocessing and prior to product releaseHousekeepingCooperates with other shifts and management team for facility housekeeping endeavorsCommunicationEnsure teamwork with management and operators occurs during each scheduled shiftTeamwork and TrainingPromote and contribute to the development of teamwork among production team membersPersonal DevelopmentContinuous learning of the Aseptic batching, sterilization, and filling processesSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
