The Quality Assurance Technician II is a senior, floor-based FSQA role responsible for driving food safety and quality execution across production. This is not an entry-level position, this role is expected to operate with independence, sound judgment, and a high level of ownership.

You will act as a key point of accountability on the floor, ensuring standards are upheld, supporting complex production activity (including new product launches), and influencing frontline teams to maintain consistent execution.

This role is ideal for individuals who are technically strong, proactive, and ready to step into greater responsibility and leadership as the organization grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead real-time QA oversight on assigned production lines, ensuring compliance with HACCP, USDA, FDA, and internal food safety standards
  • Independently verify Critical Control Points (CCPs), including cooking temperatures, cooling rates, and hold times, with strict adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Execute and validate in-process quality checks (weight, labeling, packaging integrity, product quality), ensuring consistency and accuracy
  • Serve as the primary QA support during new product launches, validating specifications and ensuring successful integration into production
  • Conduct advanced on-site testing, including pH, water activity, and sensory evaluation, and interpret results to make informed decisions
  • Perform and validate pre-operational inspections, including ATP swabbing and chemical concentration checks, ensuring sanitation effectiveness
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues in real time; escalate risks appropriately and ensure timely containment
  • Lead initial root cause analysis efforts and support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
  • Maintain and review detailed, audit-ready QA documentation; ensure data integrity and compliance at all times
  • Place non-conforming products on QA Hold and manage proper documentation, disposition support, and communication
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Sanitation, and Maintenance to drive issue resolution and improve process reliability
  • Provide on-the-floor guidance, coaching, and reinforcement of food safety and quality expectations to frontline employees
  • Support the training of new QA Technicians and contribute to the standardization of processes and best practices

What We’re Looking For

  • 4 - 6+ years of experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or food manufacturing in a regulated environment
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with frontline teams
  • High School Diploma required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field strongly preferred
  • Strong experience in USDA and/or FDA-regulated facilities
  • Deep working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and food safety principles, particularly cooking and cooling processes
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, make decisions, and drive issues through to resolution
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and take action
  • Hands-on experience performing quality testing (pH, water activity, or similar)
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in both execution and documentation
  • Ability to operate with urgency and consistency in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
  • Confident communicator who can engage directly with frontline teams and reinforce standards
  • Willingness to step in, address issues directly, and hold a high bar for performance

Who Will Succeed in This Role

  • Individuals who take ownership and follow through on outcomes
  • Technicians who are proactive, hands-on, and solutions-oriented
  • Those who thrive in environments with high expectations and accountability
  • Candidates looking to grow into QA leadership or broader operational roles
  • High performers will have opportunities to take on increased responsibility as the company continues to scale.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the production floor for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Comfortable working in hot and cold production environments

Available shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Salary Range: $26.00 - $30.00
