Miracle Hill Ministries is South Carolina's largest and most comprehensive provider of homeless services. At our core, we exist to serve people experiencing homelessness-physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Summary / Purpose of Position: Under the supervision of the Vice President of Adult Ministries, the director is responsible for providing overall leadership, safety, and security of the staff and guests while directing day-to-day administration and activities at the Miracle Hill facility for which they are responsible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in activities that help achieve program objectives outlined in the Strategic Plan.
- Assesses staff and guests needs to better accomplish program goals.
- Maintain appropriate facility positions utilizing ministry key performance indicators
- Enhance professional growth and development of staff by making opportunities known and available
- Ensures that maintenance and general repairs of the facility are handled in a timely manner
- Facilitate weekly Staff Meetings
- Collaborates with staff to establish and strengthen programs for the physical and spiritual benefit of guests.
- Ensures safety and security of the facility which includes 24/7 staff coverage for the safety of guests
- Ensures compliance with facility guidelines
- Accomplishes specific and individual facility initiatives in a timely manner.
- Operates within the facility approved annual budget
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with community agencies
- Communicates effectively with guests, staff, MH leadership, and community agencies
- Have a willingness to share the good news of Jesus Christ, give a personal testimony and pray with/for those served by the ministry
- Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Adult Ministries
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises facility staff
- Supervises Ministry Trainees in facility
- Supervises of Volunteers under the supervision of a facility staff member.
Qualifications:
- Education or equivalent experience: A bachelor's degree is required in a relevant field; a master's degree is preferred
- Years of experience: 3-5 years in a related field
- Specialized training required: Knowledge of homelessness and addictions
- Mental health training and/or experience in professional mental health fields is preferred
- Specialized training helpful: ministry, public or business administration, social science, case management, addictions, problem solving, and decision making
- Possess good oral and written communication skills, problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Possess the ability to speak the truth in love while accurately interpreting communication in relationship
- Willingness to be AACC credentialed
- If applicant is in recovery, a minimum of 7 years clean and sober is required for eligibility
License/Certification:
- Valid SC Driver's License with clean record, able to be added to MH insurance.
