Primary Purpose of Position
We are seeking an experienced Lead Teacher to join our childcare team. This is not an entry-level role; qualified candidates must bring demonstrated experience in early childhood education and classroom leadership. The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing curriculum, managing the classroom environment, and providing guidance and mentorship to assistant teachers to ensure high-quality care and learning outcomes.
Essential Job Duties

- Promotes open communication with parents through weekly progress notes, monthly newsletter, or semi-annual parent conferences
- Provides a variety of ways that families can participate in the program
- Encourages parents to participate in the program
To ensure a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant needs
- Assesses program supplies and materials needed prior to implementing activities
- Supervise assistants, aides, and volunteers working in the classroom
- Maintains written plans in a weekly/monthly basis
- Assesses childrens needs and developmental progress on an ongoing basis
- Uses the results of assessment to plan activities
- Accurately maintains classroom budget

Qualifications
Minimum:
Must be 21 years of age and have an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education and 3 years of experience in an Early Childhood Education setting. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Capable of relating to diverse age and demographic backgrounds. Physical ability sufficient to frequently walk, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds. Possess sound knowledge of the procedures and regulations specific to the care and education of infants and children. Possess a willingness to learn necessary skills and knowledge and to strive for continuous improvement. Demonstrate diplomacy, tact, and professional demeanor.
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in B-K, Early Childhood Education, Child Development and at least 1 year of experience in Early Childhood Education setting.

Full-time: Employees working on a full time schedule in a permanently established position when the incumbent is expected to be retained in the position on a contracted basis. Full-time staff receive contracts for a specific length of time within a fiscal year. Full-time faculty receive contracts for an academic period within a fiscal year, as required by state law, and may be contracted on a month by month basis per instructional needs thereafter.
