    Description

    The Wisconsin Virtual Academies (WVA) comprise three public charter schools authorized by the McFarland School District and powered by Stride K12, Inc. (Wisconsin Virtual Academy, Insight School of Wisconsin, and Destinations Career Academy). Our mission is to provide equitable, personalized learning opportunities for students no matter where they are, who they are, or what they need. We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and organized candidate for a High School Science position.     Purpose of Position:

    Insight School of Wisconsin is seeking a full-time, certified Broadfield Science Teacher. Well-qualified candidates will hold a current license in this area or be willing to pursue licensure(s) that will enhance the classroom experiences for students.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Teaching duties including, but not limited to supervision of students, grading, lesson planning and implementation
    • General management of the virtual classroom
    • Committee participation and student support
    • Homeroom content delivery and student support of HR students

    Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Broadfield Science certification to include Grades 6-12, or to pursue Broadfield Science license

    Desired Qualifications (pre-certified and/or willingness/ability to pursue):

    • Master's degree in Science related field
    • Hold multiple licenses across one or more disciplines (ie. English, Social Studies, etc.)
    • Experience working in a virtual environment.
    • Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
    • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools
    • Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment
    • Experience teaching interventions and differentiation strategies, data-driven instruction
    • Ability to effectively communicate in multiple modes
    • Responsive to requests: phone calls, and emails from students, staff, and parents.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, organized, and an ability to coordinate varied tasks successfully.
    • Ability to travel as needed, around 10% of the time within and between assigned geographic areas to support students, attend regularly scheduled meetings, and participate in school activities.

    • This position is NOT WRS eligible
    • This position does have healthcare, vision, dental, 401K, & bonuses.
    • This is a work-from-home position with some travel (10%).
    • Computer, printer, soft phone and internet stipend provided.
