Fuel line technician

Citizen Air | Full-time | KCLM, Port Angeles, WA

Citizen Air is hiring a full-time fuel line technician at Fairchild International Airport (KCLM) in Port Angeles. You'll keep the ramp safe, the aircraft fueled, and the guests well looked after on both sides of every flight.

What the work looks like

Fueling aircraft is the core of the job. You'll fuel general and business aviation aircraft, marshal arrivals, and use a tug to move Cessna, Cirrus, and other light aircraft on the ramp. You'll keep the fuel truck clean and ready, complete daily fuel logs, and log fuel charges in our online scheduling software.

You'll also clean aircraft, including windows, trash service, lavatory service, and exterior wipe-downs, and greet incoming pilots, crew, and passengers as they come off the ramp.

You'll run our courtesy car program. Pickups, drop-offs, helping guests in and out of the vehicle, step stool included. The car stays fueled, clean, and ready because you keep it that way.

The shift is consistent and full-time. Off-hours fueling rotates among the line techs, so you'll need to be reachable and able to reach the airport within thirty to forty-five minutes when paged.

Pay

Starts at $20 an hour. Moves to $22 once you complete training and pass a competency review.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision after thirty days
  • Paid time off
  • 3% company match on a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan
  • Employee discount

What we need

  • Valid driver's license, clean record
  • Pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfort with online scheduling software and basic computer tasks
  • Comfort talking to pilots, passengers, and guests

Physical demands

You'll be on your feet most of the day. The role calls for standing, walking, climbing ladders, kneeling, crouching, reaching overhead, and lifting up to fifty pounds. Vision needs to be sharp for close work and for ramp distance.

Work environment

The work is mostly outdoors on the ramp in all weather, with time inside the FBO and on the road in the courtesy car. You'll regularly drive fuel trucks, the courtesy car, and company golf carts across the taxiway. You'll also operate aircraft tugs to move Cessna, Cirrus, and other light aircraft. Expect aircraft noise, jet fuel and aviation gasoline, and moving aircraft and vehicles. PPE is provided where required.

Helpful, not required

  • Manual transmission experience
  • Aviation, FBO, or hospitality background
