Overview
Sparta Networking is hiring a Fuel Truck Driver to deliver fuel, Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), and related materials to commercial and residential construction jobsites across the area. You will run a pre-trip inspection at the plant, confirm the type and quantity of fuel, load the holding tank, and drive safely to the jobsite for delivery. On site you will connect the hose, pump product, and keep accurate delivery records, then clean the vehicle at the end of the day so no flammable material or safety hazard is left behind. Hazmat and Tanker endorsements are required for this role.
Responsibilities
- Transport fuel, DEF, and other liquids and materials to various jobsites.
- Connect hoses to fuel tanks, open valves, and assist crews with loading and unloading.
- Keep accurate daily records of the types and quantities of fuel hauled for inspection.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the truck and related parts before and after every shift.
- Communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with foremen and crew members.
- Complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) daily, noting safety, repair, and maintenance needs.
- Identify and manage safety hazards on the road and on the jobsite.
- Control, mitigate, and clean up any fuel release.
- Follow all safety protocols and DOT regulations, including SC short-haul Hours of Service rules within the 100 air-mile radius.
Requirements
Required
- CDL Class A with a valid Medical Card and Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience.
- Clean driving record with minimal violations.
- Ability to read and comprehend gauges and meter readings to exact quantity standards.
- Able to reach, bend, climb, and sit for long periods; lift approximately 50 pounds; and pull a fuel hose weighing approximately 150 pounds for short distances.
- Willing to work days, nights, and weekends as needed.
Preferred - Not Required
- Working knowledge of relevant EPA and OSHA regulations.
- Prior fuel or hazardous-materials delivery experience.
