Fulfillment Associate Fresh Foods (Cold Environment)
Job Summary
The Fulfillment Associate is responsible for assembling, picking, packing, and preparing fresh food productsincluding meal kits, protein cups, and saladsfor distribution in a refrigerated production environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining product freshness, quality, and food safety standards while meeting daily production and shipping goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and package meal kits, protein snack cups, and fresh salads according to standardized recipes and portion guidelines
- Pick and pack customer and retail orders with a high level of accuracy
- Label products with correct dates, ingredients, and allergen information
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards, including GMP and HACCP protocols
- Ensure proper portioning, presentation, and quality of fresh ingredients
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices for perishable items
- Inspect ingredients and finished goods for freshness and quality
- Prepare orders for shipment, including boxing, palletizing, and staging
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in compliance with health regulations
- Work efficiently in a refrigerated environment (typically 34°F40°F)
- Meet daily production quotas and deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Communicate issues related to product quality, shortages, or safety concerns
Working Conditions
- Refrigerated production facility (cold and humid environment)
- Repetitive tasks requiring speed and accuracy
- Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods
- Regular handling of fresh food items and ingredients
- Ability to lift up to 4050 lbs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in food production, meal prep, or warehouse fulfillment is a plus
- Comfortable working with fresh food products and in cold temperatures
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and safety guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and allergen control
- Experience in fresh food assembly (salads, meal kits, ready-to-eat items)
- Familiarity with portion control and labeling standards
- Experience with production lines or batch assembly processes
