We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Full-Charge Bookkeeper to take complete ownership of our accounting ecosystem and routine tax operations. In this vital role, you will uphold uncompromising accuracy across our ledgers, manage local and state tax filings, streamline financial workflows, and translate raw financial data into clear, actionable reporting that empowers leadership to make sound strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Financial Ownership: Oversee end-to-end accounting processes, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Month-End Closing & Compliance: Execute efficient month-end and year-end closes while ensuring strict adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and corporate financial standards.
Tax Administration & Filing: Prepare, review, and file routine tax returns (such as state sales and use tax, local business taxes, and 1099 annual reporting), manage tax schedules, and serve as the internal point of contact for external CPA firms during annual tax season.
Asset & Inventory Management: Maintain comprehensive, auditable tracking systems for company inventory, capital assets, and recurring depreciation schedules.
Reporting & Executive Insights: Synthesize financial data into structured balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, delivering clear insights directly to executive leadership to guide decision-making.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
Educational Background: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Proven Track Record: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on full-charge bookkeeping experience, including functional knowledge of routine corporate, sales, and payroll tax compliance.
Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (2+ years mandatory) and Microsoft Excel (data tables, lookup functions, and financial modeling).
Uncompromising Integrity: Demonstrated history of exercising high professional ethics and absolute discretion when handling sensitive corporate and tax records.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior accounting experience within small-to-midsize businesses (SMBs) or nonprofit organizations.
Formal tax preparation credentials or experience assisting CPAs with corporate tax returns.
Bilingual proficiency (conversational or fluent) in Spanish.
